About the Book Jane Eyre

Hi Everybody! Before reading a  story or novel (romance) we usually have a pre-reading activity (atividade pré-leitura) it helps us to have an idea about the subject . Look at the pre-reading questions and try to answer them. Use your English and try to do it by yourself.

1- According to the story introduction, Jane Eyre begins life with many disadvantages. Which of this problems do you think will be hardest for her do deal with? Put it in order according to your opinion.

(   ) Not being good-looking
(   ) Having no money

2- This story was a hundred of years ago. What was life in those days? Write your answers:

a- What kind of job opportunities were avaiable for women with no family or money?
b- What was the main aim in life for most women in those days?
c- What kind of wife  would many men have been looking for?

3- What do you think will happen to Jane in the story?Mark and translate the alternative according to your opinion.

a- At first Jane will dislike school, but later she'll come to enjoy it?
b- She'll  always be top of her class at school?
c- She will lead a sad life, living alone and making very few friends?
d- She will discover some relations she didn't know she had?
e- Mr. Rochester will give her the respect and love she wants.
